WILVO opens new ASML site on Industrieweg in Bergeijk

On Monday, June 17, WILVO officially opened its new location on Industrieweg in Bergeijk. This site plays a crucial role in ASML’s international supply chain: every day, packaging units for ASML machines are cleaned, technically inspected, and prepared here for their next worldwide shipment. It’s a 365-day operation that is essential for keeping the global high-tech chip industry running (including for companies like Intel and Samsung).

The opening ceremony was attended by Rob Lemmens (CEO WILVO Group), Eric-Jan Heling (Head of Global Warehousing Services at ASML), and Marko van Dalen (Alderman for the Municipality of Bergeijk). Other representatives from WILVO, ASML, and the municipality were also present. Over the past few months, the new location on Industrieweg (the former crane construction site) has been fully equipped for this specific logistics function.

Rob Lemmens: “Our partnership with ASML is of great (strategic) importance to us and has been characterized for decades by strong mutual trust. We’ve been working closely together for over 30 years, and with this new site, we’re investing in a future-proof solution.”

The size of the packaging pool has grown significantly over the years, partly due to the emergence of new generations of ASML machines. WILVO manages a wide range of packaging and ensures that sufficient units are always available. “The operation has become more complex, but also more refined,” says Rob Lemmens. “We started out on the corner of Industrieterrein 16 and, via Westerhoven, the Melkweg site, and Eersel, we’re now back in Bergeijk with this specific business. The circle is complete. ASML hasn’t noticed any disruption during the transition. We relocated everything and got it fully operational within a month.”

The Municipality of Bergeijk played a crucial and highly involved role. Marko van Dalen: “Together with WILVO, we explored the possibilities. This activity is important for our municipality, the region, and the international industry.”
